WHAT EVEN IS AN INTROVERT?

Podcasts are amazing, and I’m going to continue to love them for eternity.

It’s basically free education, which is truly awesome.

They are life-changing.

I listen to at least one episode daily.

Podcasts are great for commuting, for when you get ready in the morning, go on walks and they go very well with your coffee.

Podcasts are actually what started my online entrepreneur journey and I am so thankful for them.

There is so much wisdom out there, wonderful people to follow and knowledge waiting to be sipped into you.

Especially when it comes to learning more about yourself, personal development and self-care.

I’m a personal development addict so to write this article was an absolute must for me.

I’ve gathered the best of the best personal development podcasts out there.

For every podcast, I recommend an episode to start with (my favorites).

I know there are lots of great posts about personal development podcasts out there, but I wanted to share the ones that motivate and continue to inspire me every day and those I think will do wonders for you too.

Maybe I should start my own podcast?

Who else has asked themselves that very question?

Maybe. Someday.

For now, go and fill your ears with the following wise people…

1. The Life Coach School Podcast

The Life Coach School Podcast, I think, originated from being just that – a podcast for her students and other aspiring coaches out there.

Brooke Castillo is a true inspiration.

She’s a well-known coach, has her own coaching business and she’s done it all.

She’s also a millionaire.

Well done, Brooke.

Speaking of surrounding yourself with and following people who have the goals you want in your life…

This podcast says it all, it is everything and all the good stuff.

Brooke teaches you how to solve any problem in your life and it all comes down to the following equation:

Thoughts ➝ Beliefs ➝ Actions ➝ Results

Start from the very beginning and be ready to have the best personal development trip of your life. You will be mind-blown (or at least I was).

Host: Brooke Castillo

2. Design Your Dream Life

Natalie is hands down amazing.

She’s become quite the personal development guru online.

Natalie has a great blog of which she updates weekly and her podcast is no different.

Updates every Wednesday and it’s filled with the best learning of self-growth.

Natalie is also a student of Brooke Castillo so they do share many of the same views.

I don’t know where I’d be without Natalie and Brooke’s take on life.

You really can’t start listening soon enough.

Host: Natalie Bacon

3. The Lavendaire Lifestyle

The Lavendaire Lifestyle podcast is hosted by Youtuber and lifestyle blogger, Aileen Xu.

If you haven’t dived into her world yet, do so now.

She has a great youtube channel (700K subscribers to date) with lots of inspiring videos to help you design the life of your dreams and her websites are always visually appealing.

The Lavendaire Lifestyle has been named one of the top podcasts in iTunes’ Self-Help category.

I’m not going to argue with iTunes.

New episodes every Sunday.

An inspiring way to end and start the week.

Note: Aileen goes off the air from Dec-March and will air again as usual after that. But listen to her previous episodes while you wait for springtime! 🙂

4. Magic Lessons

If you’ve been following me for a while, you probably know by now that Big Magic is my favorite book, of all time.

The author is Elizabeth Gilbert (she’s also the woman behind Eat, Pray, Love – starring Julia Roberts, a movie you’ve most likely heard of. Am I right?) and when I discovered that she too had a podcast, I was all ears.

She brings her book about creativity into the real world and has real talks with real people, mainly about creativity, feeling stuck, how to overcome fear and get the most out of life.

Unfortunately, this podcast is no longer in production, but there are plenty of episodes to indulge in.

If you’re looking for inspiration, start here. I honestly get goosebumps from listening to Ms. Gilbert.

Host: Elizabeth Gilbert

5. Happier

Happier is a podcast hosted by the author of The Happiness Project (I book which I love), Gretchen Rubin.

And you guessed it, the podcast centers around happiness.

Gretchen and her co-host (and little sister), Elizabeth Craft give you their best tips and tricks on how you can live a happier life, have better habits and general amazingness.

It airs every Wednesday.

They also release a mini-episode (usually 1-5 minutes long) every Monday, referred to as “Little”. Gretchen shares a short story to kick-start your week in hope of making it a little … happier.

Gretchen and her sister have great chemistry (obviously – being sisters and all), they always seem to have a good time together so it’s all good vibes in this podcast. In other words, I never miss an episode.

Host: Gretchen Rubin and Elizabeth Craft

6. The Minimalists Podcast

Who does not love The Minimalists?

I was completely mesmerized by their documentary and from there on out, I was sold.

You can watch it on Netflix or go to their homepage.

Although I’m not living with only 10 personal items, I was able to get rid of a fair amount of stuff just laying around.

Things that didn’t bring me any joy anymore and was just crowding my life.

There is so much goodness, advice, tips, and tricks in this podcast – about how to be happy with less.

In addition to everything minimalism, they also have episodes that center around topics such as habits, self-care, and emotions.

It’s just a really great podcast for self-growth addicts like myself. I highly recommend it.

Plus, the intro song is really cute.

Josh and Ryan have already helped over 20 million people so if you haven’t already checked this one out, please do and I promise you, you’ll have a completely new take on life and material things.

Host:  Joshua Fields Millburn & Ryan Nicodemus

Recommended episode: Beginnings

7. The Lively Show

The Lively Show is one of my go-to’s and has become part of my morning routine.

The podcast is hosted by Jess Lively and she’s been doing this for a while.

To date, there are over 300 episodes (!) available on iTunes which is quite outstanding.

And a new episode continues to air every Thursday.

Jess is all about creating the life you want to live, she touches a lot on the law of attraction (on a personal note and how it applies to her, which I appreciate) and how to be present and keep a positive mindset.

So, all the good stuff basically.

She shares her story, she’s your BFF and at the same time, you get wiser.

Win-win-win.

Jess interviews guests (including Brooke Castillo), as well as she, has solo episodes every now and then.

8. Good Life Project

Good Life Project is hosted by Johnathan Fields, author of the best-selling book How To Live A Good Life.

Honestly, I’m quite new to this podcast.

At first, I wasn’t a big fan of it – but then boy oh boy was I into it.

I can’t put a finger on why it took me a while to be drawn into Johnathan’s world.

Sometimes it just takes a little time and you have to spend a couple of episodes getting to know the podcaster.

But I’m glad I did.

The podcast is easy to listen to.

Johnathan is a great interviewer as well as he shares his own personal stories with the listener.

The interviews, or conversations, are deep and insightful and to be honest, quite meditative.

He also had some amazing guests (I should say experts) on his show, including Elizabeth Gilbert, Brené Brown, Byron Katie, and Tim Ferriss.

The keywords being inspiring and thought-provoking people.

You are doomed to feel inspired and live the good life once you bring this podcast into your life.

Host: Johnathan Fields

Recommended episode: Curiosity And The Passion Fallacy with Elizabeth Gilbert (goosebumps alert)

Thanks so much for this very very good content. I recommend listening to a friend of mine’s podcast, “Finely Clicked”. I am a dreamer and I need some personal development in my life. I plan on reading all of these books you recommend. And listen to the recommended podcasts. I hope you get a chance to listen to mine. She has one with En May. I believe the episode number is Episode 13.
