1. With Blogging Comes Freedom
This very first benefit is the reason I got into blogging.
It’s simple.
Freedom.
- Freedom to design my days however which way I want.
- Freedom to travel the world while working on my blog.
- Freedom to spend my time doing and teaching what I love.
- Freedom to wake up when I want (although I will forever be a morning person.)
- Freedom to make my own decisions about my life and my work.
2. Work From Anywhere
Turning your blog into a business will give you the sought-after opportunity to work from anywhere, and I mean anywhere.
Whether that’s by the pool in Ibiza, at home in your safe space, at your favorite local coffee shop or on an airplane on your way to somewhere magical.
Blogging makes working from anywhere possible.
3. Become A Better Writer
By blogging consistently you will naturally evolve into a better writer.
Your vocabulary will expand immensely.
After all, you’re writing thousands of words weekly.
Heck, I even wrote a whole ebook after starting my own blogging journey.
Blogging allows you to find your own unique voice and to express that voice.
It’s become an outlet for me to write about things that matter to me and to my audience.
There isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t sit down to journal, write a blog post or do research.
Not only will you improve your writing skills, but you will learn so much about yourself and the world in the process.
4. The Passive Income
Yes, we’re going to talk a little about the money. ????
With blogging, you can literally make money in your sleep.
Here are some ways you can make money blogging:
- Through ads on your site
- Affiliate marketing – selling other people’s products
- Sponsored posts
- Selling your own digital products (Six Figure Blogger is a course that teaches you exactly how to do this!)
- 1:1 services like coaching
My go-to course that I enrolled in to learn all there is to know about affiliate marketing is by Michelle from Making Sense of Cents. Michelle earns over $50.000 per month through affiliate marketing. Learn more about her Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing course.
You also have complete control over your income.
You decide what you charge and you have the power to scale indefinitely.
Running an online business means that the people you can reach with your services is endless.
There is no limit to how much money you can make online.
In fact, the sky is the limit.
5. Change People’s Lives
While making money online is amazing, the best part about blogging is the fact that I get to provide my audience with so much value and change their lives.
I get so many emails from my readers telling me how my blog has impacted their lives, and it’s just the best feeling in the world.
Whenever a new student enrolls in my blogging course for introverts, Dreamer To Blogger, I get goosebumps because I know how much they will benefit from the material and methods taught in this course.
I’ve put my best work into it and the curriculum changed my life.
Without my audience, She Dreams All Day wouldn’t exist.
I’m on a mission to help as many people as I can and I believe that’s exactly what I’m supposed to do.
Here’s some honest advice for you.
Never start a blog just because of the money.
You have to care about both your chosen niche and the people who drop by and subscribe to your email list.
It’s always going to be about serving the people and solving their problems.
You have to start a blog for the right reasons.
You gotta want to do it despite the cash because that is just the byproduct of you bringing value to your people.
6. Boosts Personal Development & Confidence
Whether you’re starting a personal development blog or a blog with a different niche, you will most definitely up your personal growth in the process.
Since starting my own blogging adventure, I have learned so much about both myself and my audience.
Blogging is a challenge and that’s a good thing.
With blogging comes obstacles, problems, and failures.
This is how you grow and evolve (which is the whole purpose of living if ya ask me).
As a result, you boost your personal development and confidence.
7. Connect With Other Bloggers
Blogging can get lonely, especially if you do it full-time.
Networking with like-minded bloggers is a wonderful way to make it a little less lonely.
Once you start your blogging journey, use platforms such as Twitter, Instagram or good old email to connect with other bloggers.
Look to other bloggers as inspiration and motivation for what’s possible, and not as competition.
Cheer each other on and have fun with the fact that you’re doing something with your life that matters both to you and your audience.
Remember, there is only one you.
Go to networking events like FinCon or Create & Cultivate and connect with other bloggers and business owners IRL.
Anyone going next year? β¨
8. You Become Your Own Boss
Once you hit that publish button on your new blog you immediately turn into a CEO.
You become your own boss.
You have no one else to report to but to yourself.
Can I get a heck-yes?
Now, this also comes with challenges and risks – as you know – but being your own boss is so worth it.
- You call the shots.
- You decide when you take time off.
- You design your days the way you want.
- You’re a complete #GIRLBOSS.
9. It’s Not Expensive To Start A Blog
You can start a blog today for under $5.
Now, full disclosure – as you grow your blog and scale your business, your expenses will also increase.
But just to get into the game, you can do so for really cheap.
Blue Host is my number one recommendation for a host for newbie bloggers, plus you get a FREE domain when you sign up.
10. Anyone Can Start A Blog
If you have internet access and a laptop, you are capable of starting a blog and an online business.
Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to be tech-savvy or a wizard at writing to start a blog.
There are courses and tutorials for all that complicated tech stuff.
All you need is a reliable WiFi connection and a good cup of coffee.
If you want to turn your blog into a successful online empire, that is possible too.
Blogging isn’t always easy, but I know you can do hard things.
We can all do hard things.
If you have the persistence to keep going, even when things get hard and you continue to show up every day, there is no doubt you will have amazing results.
You got this, dreamer. β¨
